Customer: Global provider of insurance and financial services
Technology: Siebel Testing Project - Offshore Testing of Dataplu$

The Customer

The customer is a leading provider of insurance and other financial services for over 160 years. It serves approximately over 12 million individual households in the U.S. and companies and institutions with approximately 30 million employees and members, including majority of the FORTUNE 100 companies. It offers its products through independent agents spread across the 50 states.

The Challenge

The customer needed to implement Siebel Sales Enterprise (SSE) from Siebel Inc. SSE is a web-based application software product designed to meet the sales, marketing and customer service related information of the client.

The Solution

This project involved release of version 1.0 and 1.1 of Dataplu$ - a Siebel customized application used by agents, Supervisors and agencies to improve customer relations and increase business. The activity included:

  • Functional/Integration testing
     
  • Regression/Bronze testing
     
  • Defect fixing

The testing activity was carried out as an offshore activity at Tata Infotech, by simulating the testing environment. A team of Tata Infotech consultants was involved in carrying out Regression and Bronze testing - which covered the functional and technical requirements of the client. In the subsequent release, additional testing of the customized Siebel Sales force automation was done offshore. The comprehensive testing also included workflow and scenarios.

Technology: E-2-E web-based application

The Customer

The customer is one of the largest life insurer in the USA with a broad spectrum of individual and institutional customers, offering insurance, annuity and investment products . The company also offers individual / group insurance as well as retirement and savings products/ services to corporate and other institutions.

The Challenge

It was required to build a web-based end-to-end application to support the agents of the customer for auto and home individual business as well as institutional business.

The Solution

Tata Infotech undertook the complete life cycle development from setting up of infrastructure, architecting the solution, design, development, testing and deployment. The application allowed a secured access of auto and home policies to the customer's agents. It supported the agents for generating quotations. The interface enabled the agents to quote, rate, and bill and inquire for the policies. The Single Internet Log On (SILO) was used for application security, which restricts users to a single browser session for accessing components of the service.

Case 3:
Customer: Leading insurance provider in areas of life and health
Technology: Reengineering/migration

The Customer

The client customer has been engaged in insurance business for more than half a century now. It has a network of over 3032 district District offices, spread across 10 states in USA. Client They also offers Life insurance, health insurance and funeral expense insurance.

The Challenge

It was required to move the then existing batch application system (about 1500 programs with nearly 1 million lines of code) to a de-centralized online environment. The business requirements also needed enhancements to the system in terms of functionality.

The Solution

Tata Infotech used reverse engineering followed by re-engineering for migration from batch mode environment of IBM4381, to move to a decentralized on-line environment, where even the agents in field would have laptops available. Functionality and the business rules were extracted from their source system and migrated to the target application causing minimal user interaction.
