Tata Tea : Land Records Information Management System (LRIMS)

Tata Infotech developed a Land Records Information Management System (LRIMS) for M/s. Tata Tea Limited, India. The project involved development of a customized GIS software package to convert the existing paper based survey details of various formats ranging from simple ladder type data through tachometric data to digital data.

The Maps and related data generated by this system are designed to facilitate future up-gradations and maintain compatibility with common application software and other existing systems. The system automatically detects the survey errors such as typing errors, closing errors, merging errors, etc., and prompts the user for any correction. The map related attribute data can be stored in common database which can then be accessed over a network which enables easy and accurate reproduction of maps.

The system will enable users over an hierarchy with different security permission to keep track of details such as land ownership, transfer of ownership, survey details, land type etc. The system also enables map-editing features such as mosaicing, map division, rubber sheeting, plot merging etc.
