Offerings
Tata Infotech has developed solutions to integrate
the data of legacy systems with latest technologies to support business
operations across an enterprise.
Offerings:
Web Enablers
- Lite Version: (web enable applications with the look and feel
of a terminal in a browser)
- Lite Version with GUI: (web enable applications with a GUI and
minimal rewrite of applications)
- Complete Solution: (web enable existing applications and / or
introduce a new application solely for the web while still interacting
with old applications and databases)
Architecture Migration
Migration of applications to a new architecture such as client server
or multi-tier architectures.
Code Conversion
Upgradation of applications to new environments and versions.
The Tata Infotech Advantage
- Over 220 man-years of experience in re-engineering applications
for customers across the world.
- Infrastructure to undertake re-engineering projects on a wide
range of software environments: COBOL, MAPPER, LINC, CSP, FORTRAN,
ORACLE, C and Natural, on platforms such as Unisys, IBM, DEC,
UNIX, HP3000, WANG and Open platforms.
- A Track Methodology (explained below) that caters to the spectrum
of re-engineering services and is flexible for execution of critical
phases, on-site or offshore
- Established practices and processes complemented by an effective
toolkit (proprietary reverse engineering tools and database drivers)
- Connectivity to client machines which enables faster renovation
and test execution
- Capability to set up a customer specific factory to provide
flexibility and customisation of re-engineering strategy, standards,
procedures and tools.
- Adoption of the ISO 9000 framework for project practices
The TRACK ( Tata Infotech Re-engineering and Conversion Kit ) Methodology
To meet the complex task of "re-engineering"
from a source technology to a destination technology, Tata Infotech
has developed a robust, but flexible, methodology called TRACK.
The methodology has been designed, taking into account the diversity
of re-engineering services. The methodology addresses the spectrum
of typical re-engineering projects covering the pre-proposal study
phase through implementation and support. The various phases addressed
in this methodology include: pre-proposal study phase, customer
input package (CIP) packaging, CIP set-up and assessment of applications,
re-engineering planning, re-engineering, testing, implementation,
acceptance, and post-acceptance support.
