In
this project, the data product of MapInfo called "Streetworks"
was updated from the older version (v5.0) to the latest version
(v6.0). When the new Streetworks (Version 6.0) was introduced,
MapInfo Corporation was in need of updating their map data
set. This was necessitated because of the incompatibility
of the base data supplied by Public Sector Mapping Agencies
(PSMA), Australia. Tata Infotech was involved in manual geocoding
(i.e. referencing the houses based on the house numbers in
the map). This involved development of MapBasic Programs through
which the changes in data sets were detected, corrected and
checked for quality. This activity also can be called as Geographical
DataBase (GDB) Correction.
