Tata Infotech Education In Alliance With University Of Mumbai Launches Career Courses In The Emerging Sectors

Pioneers the 3- way- relationship between Academia- Corporate-Tata Infotech Education

Tata Infotech Education Services Division, the premier IT education company today announced its aggressive plans to launch Career Courses in the Emerging Sectors in alliance with the University Of Mumbai. Under this alliance, they will offer joint certification leading to academic credits for the students. This will be available to all the students of the University of Mumbai. Tata Infotech Education will have access to other university campuses and colleges and institutions under the University Of Mumbai, as part of this agreement. This alliance reinforces Tata Infotech Education's commitment to provide high-quality courses to all students of the University Of Mumbai. This initiative will raise the standards of IT courses offered in the city and provide a platform for comprehensive learning.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Bhalchandra Mungekar, Vice Chancellor, University Of Mumbai, said, "At the University Of Mumbai, we believe in providing the latest trends in global education. The alliance with Tata Infotech Education will bring in a corporate way of working in the University's system. In the long run, students will benefit from the revamp in the education system." He further added, " The introduction of alternate modes of learning will provide more opportunities to our students."

Farrokh Kavarana, Chairman, Tata Infotech Limited, said, "Being the number one System Integrator, we have the expertise in implementing large and complex hardware, software, courseware and services. We bring this expertise to the students through this relationship. Tata Infotech will offer career courses in the emerging sectors in line with our positioning. This relationship will allow students from across the globe to get access to the courses and obtain joint certification as a part of the academic exchange program."

Dr Sudhir Panse, Director, Board of College and University Development, University of Mumbai, said, "Under this tie-up, the student will have the opportunity to choose courses that have been validated by the University. These courses will accrue academic credits for their current studies within the University and higher studies overseas. Additionally, Tata Infotech's courses like G-Tech and CReME address the requirements of the Software, Hardware, Network and IT Enabled Services industry. This tie-up will also open its doors to the Corporates and Professionals, so as to make the University a Learner Friendly Institution."

According to Rahul Thapan, Head - Education Services Division, Tata Infotech Limited, "This is Tata Infotech Education's strategic direction of creating a pioneering three-way- relationship between Academia- Corporates and Tata Infotech Education. This alliance will bring together the formal and the informal education sectors to serve the requirements of the corporates." He further added, "This alliance will help Tata Infotech education conduct courses in areas where they are not present."

The courses will be available at the state-of-the-art center with the latest software and hardware, which will be available to the students at the University premises. Skilled faculty from Tata Infotech Education will conduct these courses and offer placement assistance for these career courses. They will also provide free training to 50 staff members of the University on the basics of IT. This partnership will help in driving international academic exchange programs.

On completion of the course, students will receive joint certification. While the program will be initiated from one of the campuses of the University, it will be extended to other locations in the future. This program is primarily targeted at college students who want to build skills as per the market requirements. Career courses in the area of Software Development, Hardware and Network Support, IT Enabled Services, with specialization in Banking, Telecommunications and Insurance will be some of the programs covered under this agreement.

International students seeking the benefit of renowned names in the field of education and training like University of Mumbai and Tata Infotech Education can also benefit from this program. Similarly, the University of Mumbai and Tata Infotech Education will also explore alternate learning modes like e-learning. Tata Infotech has an existing tie-up with SmartForce, which allows access to over 2000 learning modules, leading to global certifications.
