SENIOR ETL ARCHITECT/DESIGNER

Tata Infotech has immediate openings for consultants with excellent knowledge and experience in Informatica PowerCenter (7.x). The consultants should hold a BE/BTech/MCA or equivalent qualification along with minimum 5 years experience in implementing data warehouses in an Oracle environment with Informatica as the ETL tool.

Job Description

1. Solid understanding of data warehouse theory and practical knowledge data architecture including logical and physical modeling.
2. Understanding of industry best practices for ETL design and development.
3. Strong SQL experience with sound knowledge in PL/SQL.
4. Experience with industry standard data models such as Len Silverston’s Universal Data Model would be a strong plus.
5. Data modeling experience using ERWIN or similar tool.
6. Excellent software engineering skills (design, development, testing, etc).
7. Experienced in flavors of Unix with special emphasis on Solaris
8. Should have experience in maintenance and operations of an established warehouse environment.
9. Strong data analysis skills and testing skills.
10. Excellent communication skills
11. Ability to handle clients independently

Responsibilities

1. Map source system data to data warehouse models
2. Work closely with Project Manager and Data Architect to identify and understand business requirements that need to be translated into ETL and data warehouse design blueprints.
3. Responsible for creating and maintaining standard development life cycle documentation as part of all development project tasks.
4. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
5. Understanding of best practices in ETL Design and development and ability to load data into highly normalized tables and star schemas.
6. Adapt ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business requirements.
7. Performance tune new/existing programs that load data into the data warehouse.
8. Work closely with other team members and the internal architecture group to work through scalability issues, new sourcing architectures, and processing standards.
