Exegenix technology enables content

Exegenix technology 'understands' the visual representation of a document in the same way as do human authors and readers. It deduces the document's logical structure from the appearance and position of objects on the page. Then, output transformers are employed to convert the content and identified structure to XML, or any other desired data format.

The transition to an XML-enabled infrastructure can take some time. As an organization rallys around its long-term XML strategy, Exegenix technology can be integrated with both XML and non-XML applications to provide immediate or ongoing access to non-XML content.

Content is processed through the Visual Data Acquisition module, creating the Visual Description File (VDF). This file is processed through the Document Structure Identification (DSI) module to create the DSI database. The content can then be placed in the desired output format by the appropriate Output Transformer.
