Revolutionary
Product For Document Conversion
09/07/2002

Can a complex PDF or a PostScript™ document be quickly
and cost-effectively transformed into the XML language? Yes,
if you are using the new product developed by Tata Infotech's
Canadian subsidiary Exegenix Inc. The product is labelled "Exegenix
Conversion system"
"Exegenix
Conversion system" was recently launched at the 'XML
Europe 2002' conference in Barcelona, Spain, and drew to it
people associated with XML technology.
And
how does the technology in the product work to convert documents
into the XML language?
It uses visual cues to uncover a document's structure, in
the same way that humans would. Individuals rarely encounter
problems when determining the hierarchal structure of a document,
as they look at the document as a "whole", considering
the document's very graphic object-format, position and context;
Exegenix's technology functions in a similar manner. The technology
interprets a document's logical structure, based on the appearance
and the position of its components. The "valid"
XML output file presents the document's content and logical
structure and retains all relevant formatting information.
It is designed for ease of use with XSLT and other transformation
scripts.
To
meet the different requirements of organisations the Exegenix
Conversion System has an extensive modular technology that
makes it possible to meet the different conversion requirements
of organisations.
It
can run as a stand-alone application on Wn32, Linux and Solaris
platforms, or get integrated into other applications via scripts
and command line options.
The
product has a choice of pricing models to accommodate budgets
of all sizes.
