Spectrum Software and Tata Infotech Form Strategic Alliance

Systems design and software services company Spectrum Software based in Atlanta, USA and leading systems integrator Tata Infotech Ltd., today announced the signing of agreements which involve working together as service partners in marketing Spectrum's platform portable, web enabled, full-featured source configuration management tool - SpectrumSCM™ in India and in addressing the Telecommunications market space in the US.

Under the terms of the understanding between the two companies, Tata Infotech will market SpectrumSCM™ through its countrywide sales network. It will also be providing product support and training for SpectrumSCM™ as part of this agreement.

Further both companies would work together to pursue Telecom service opportunities and execution of projects either onsite or offshore, from Tata Infotech's facilities in India. Both parties agreed to leverage their respective strengths in this area to establish a competitive market advantage for the US market.

Mr. Sarathi Srinivasan, President, Spectrum Software, said, "We have in Tata Infotech a reputed company with market credibility, resources and the capabilities to understand and market our product. We are confident that through the efforts of Tata Infotech and Spectrum's strength globally, we will be able to achieve our target for deployment of 100,000 licenses of Spectrum SCM™ by year 2005. We also found that Tata Infotech has a well established Telecom services practise that has executed several projects in this area which are of interest to us and we would like to leverage these capabilities jointly.

Dr Nirmal Jain - Managing Director, Tata Infotech Limited, said, "We found SpectrumSCM™ to be an attractive alternative to the expensive high-ended SCM systems that are currently in the market place. Spectrum has good domain expertise and customer contact base in the Telecommunication market-space. With our expertise we could offer synergy in this area. Tata Infotech could leverage its offshore development and global delivery capability in delivering custom built applications to Telecom customers. Spectrum is also looking into some of the telecom products developed by us for marketing in the US".
