BEA,
Tata Infotech offer Weblogic training
Financial Express - Aug 3, 2001 |
Infrastructure software major BEA Systems and
Tata Infotech have come together to launch training on BEA transaction
platform technology, Weblogic, in India. The training programme
has been designed to cater to the growing transaction platform
market, which is slated to touch $44 billion in the next five
years, according to Mr Srikant S Rao, country manager, BEA Systems.
Under the agreement, the training module would
be hosted at Tata Infotech centres. The module is being rolled
out on August 6, initially in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. According
to Mr Rao, "There is a large opportunity in the transaction
platform segment. We have decided to tap the training market,
as Weblogic has become the de facto Java 2 Enterprise Edition
(J2EE) server in the Indian software community."
Mr Rahul Thapan, head, education services division,
Tata Infotech, points out that the long-term strategy is to provide
it as an add-on module. "Also, the focus will be to try and
bundle this along with other pieces of technology and spread it
to a wider market," he added.
He said that as Tata Infotech is providing system
integration solutions based on BEA Systems’ products, "it
was natural to extend this relationship to provide training on
the fastest-growing transaction technology platform to India."
According to Mr Thapan, the training module is
targeted at corporates initially. Under the module, there will
be two courses of five days each.
