.Net programme
Financial Express - Apr 26, 2001 |
New Delhi: TATA Infotech Education
on Wednesday launched its .Net education programme under which
it introduced the first C Sharp programme in the country for software
professionals based on the .Net technology platform from Microsoft.
The company will in the long-term introduce more such initiatives,
according to Mr Rahul Thapan, head, education services division,
Tata Infotech Ltd.
Mr Thapan explained, "The aim is to impart
education in line with the IT industry needs. All our courses
provide a solid foundation of concepts that are further value-added
through specialisation in technology and applications."
The programme includes concepts on the .Net platform,
Windows 2000, followed by details on C Sharp, which is a object-oriented
development language that enables programmers to build solutions
for the Microsoft .Net platform. The framework provided allows
C Sharp components to become Web services that are available across
the Internet from any application running on any platform.
Mr Thapan pointed out, "The students will
get a hands-on feel of the .Net technology and become proficient
in C Sharp language."
The duration of the programme is 106 hours and
it is priced at Rs 11,900.
Mr Thapan said the company, under its fresh perspective,
has adopted reverse integration as a means to move forward. This
entails going to corporates to know the potential opening areas.
The process ensures that the courses are able to keep up with
the requirements of IT industry, he added.
"The module aims to provide just-in-time
technology skills for software development. It targets the segment
of professionals looking to upgrade skills," Mr Thapan said.
Education services account for 15 per cent of
the overall Tata Infotech business. The company is targeting a
revenue growth of over 100 per cent in this financial year, Mr
Thapan said.
