bags 2-yr world book inc. contract

World Book Inc., Chicago, USA, of the encyclopaedia
and publishing industry have engaged Tata Infotech Ltd., to enhance
and maintain its mission-critical, revenue-earning web-site, World
Book Online.
A statement issued by the company said that this
contract with Tata Infotech is initially for two years. Tata Infotech
will offer critical support to WBOL 24-hours a day, seven days'
a week, which will include immediate trouble-shooting in existing
application whenever required, content updates, enhancements and
introduction of new features, and consultancy for technological
upgrades. The statement further added that the project will be
executed offshore at the Tata Infotech Software Development centre
dedicated to e-business, in Bangalore, India, with close monitoring
from the company's customer-proximity centre in Chicago, USA,
via the data communication and IT infrastructure.
WBOL is a subscription-based service for schools
and libraries in the US, Canada, Ireland, UK and Australia. WBOL
features all articles from the world book encyclopedia plus content
from an exclusive archive of annuals and articles.
