Tata Infotech to
offer computer education in Haryana

Gurgaon: Haryana has tied up
with Tata Infotech to introduce computer education in the schools,
colleges, polytechnics and industrial training institutes (ITI's)
from the ensuing academic session. The company will recruit its
own staff, mainly from Haryana, would pay their salaries and perks,
supply, free of cost hardware and software and would also bear
the cost of electricity used to impart computer education.
The chief minister Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala
said that for this purpose the state has been grouped into five
zones - zone one will comprise 285 government high and senior
secondary schools of Ambala, Yamuna Nagar, Panchkula and Kurukshetra
districts. 343 such schools of Karnal, Panipat and Sonepat would
be covered in zone two and zone three would include 432 similar
schools of Rohtak, Jhajjar, Jind and Kaithal districts. Zone four
would comprise 363 schools of Faridabad, Gurgaon and Rewari districts
and zone five would cover 472 such schools situated in Bhiwani,
Mahendergarh and Fatehabad districts. Hisar, Sirsa and Faehabad
would form the sixth zone comprising 347 schools. Each batch of
trainees would comprise 200 students.
As the curriculum and standard of training at
various levels would differ separate faculties would be assigned
the task. The syllabus and courses of reading and practical training
is being prepared by the Haryana State Electronics Development
Corporation (HARTRON) and Tata Infotech experts. The focus will
be immediate employment in India and abroad to the trainees of
these institutions, Mr Chautala added.
